Old Cucumber Soup

Today a bit special on making soup, I made it on my own without help of my mom but she guides on ingredients and wife guide on cutting the old cucumber.

Let’s cook old cucumber soup!

Ingredients;

  • Old cucumber 1pcs
  • Red dates few pcs
  • Black dates few pcs (actually this no need but is left over, so just put together)
  • Dry scallop 2pcs
  • Dry longan few pcs
  • Dry oyster 2pcs
  • Soup pork bone aprx. 1kg (pow tong guat)

Preparations;

black dates
soup pork bone (pow tong kuat)
dry longan
dry scallop
dry oyster
wash and rinse red and black dates

I forgot to take pictures of washing those below;

actually u can wash them together

pour in red and black dates

start the fei sui process for soup pork bone like my previous soup post, i lazy to type so many same process. all meat does the same thing
fei sui till white dirt came out
wash with tap water
after washing put in pot
wash old cucumber, make sure clean because no need remove skin. else u will eat sand and dirt
cut into half
remove all seeds
with seed and without seeds different
cut small small
put in pot
fire 🔥 up max for 3 to 4 hours or till is ready

Some notes for myself;

I need to wear glove for next soup making. My hand skin got a bit damage maybe soaked with water too long. My skin is not tough like other men 😕
30mins later, I check the soup.. it drys up a bit, so I add water again continue max the fire again, need to reduce fire after it boils up

I ate with white rice amd soy souce dipping for pork bone

It does not taste very flavorful like other soup but it feels calm and clean taste.

The pork bone is good to go with soy sauce dipping.

Still a very satisfied soup that I able to taste all the ingredients in it because no other seasoning and salt added.
