Fu Chuk Eggs Tong Sui

“Tofu skin, yuba, bean curd skin, bean curd sheet, or bean curd robes, is a food product made from soybeans”

Above is my Wikipedia findings, I called it fu chuk eggs tong sui. Tong sui is sweet soup in Cantonese. Ok, done introductions, if wants more information about fu chuk please Google 🙏

Fu chuk & Quail eggs

This is one of my favorite tong sui made by mom. Today I took my chance to take photo and notes from it without mom nagging me, my mom doesn’t likes me to interfere while she’s cooking in kitchen. Therefore, I need to speed up whatever it takes.

Wait no more! Let’s Cook!

Ingredients;

  • Fu chuk 2sheet
  • Quail eggs 15pcs (It’s up to u for how many to consume, it doesn’t interfere with the taste)
  • Chinese rock sugar 100gm (don’t put everything in, put half and taste it till U satisfied with the sweetness)
  • Ginger 2slice
  • Chicken eggs 1pcs (Optional)

Preparations;

Get ready fu chuk & quail eggs
cut 2 slice if ginger and smash it
put in pot and fire 🔥 up with 70% – 80% water

put quail eggs in pans

fire 🔥 up and cook it
fill water with fu chuk
soak for awhile till it soften
rinse
tear it into small pieces
put fu chuk in pot
by this time quail eggs is cooked
put quail eggs in bowl and fill with tap water to cool it down
remove quail eggs shells
quail eggs removed completely
check fu chuk, it should be soft or dissolve like in pictures. most importantly is soft, doesn’t matter if it didn’t dissolve
add in rock sugar half portion
stir it till dissolve, taste it and see if u satisfied with the sweetness else add more on demand
put in all quail eggs
put in chicken eggs. this is my last minute add in, didn’t think of it earlier.
don’t break the chicken egg yolk, it should looks like this

perfectly match with other kuih

The sweetness is on demand, for me I likes to go above average sweetness. I don’t consume this everyday.

This sweet soup is so eggsie and soy bean flavors from fu chuk. U can feels both eggs texture lingering in your mouth carrying rock sugar sweetness run thru your tongue 😝 It’s very satisfying, super satisfying!
